We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Inventory Clerk to join our team at our facility in Asheville, NC. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and is ideal for individuals who are organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay & Schedule:
- Pay Rate: $25.83 per hour
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Bi-weekly pay
Job Summary:
We're seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset. The successful candidate will support plant operations by maintaining maintenance inventory, coordinating purchases, ensuring spare parts availability, and driving inventory accuracy. This position plays an important role in helping the plant achieve its safety, reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency goals.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records for maintenance parts, supplies, and tools using computerized inventory systems.
- Issue and receive maintenance parts and materials for technicians and contractors.
- Conduct cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Track inventory usage trends and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotes, place orders, and follow up on deliveries.
- Verify incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Resolve discrepancies related to shipments, purchase orders, and inventory transactions.
- Label, organize, and store inventory in a safe and accessible manner.
- Maintain documentation for purchase orders, receipts, inventory transactions, and maintenance records.
- Assist with tracking equipment repair history and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure critical spare parts are available for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, storage efficiency, and cost control.
- Support plant safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of inventory, warehouse, storeroom, or maintenance support experience.
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CMMS, ERP, and inventory management systems is considered an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing plant and maintenance storeroom environment.
- Routine walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent interaction with maintenance personnel, vendors, and plant departments.
- Exposure to noise, moving machinery, industrial equipment, chemicals, and maintenance-related materials.
- Fast-paced environment requiring strong organizational skills and continual attention to detail.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
