St. Helens / Cowlitz County regional area to hire a full-time
Maintenance Laborer / Industrial Maintenance Helper. In this active, trade-entry position, you will support mill and yard operations by performing routine preventative maintenance, greasing and lubricating heavy machinery, assisting with mechanical repairs, and keeping shop equipment running smoothly.
No welding experience is requiredjust basic tool knowledge, mechanical curiosity, and an eager willingness to learn! If you bring a strong work ethic and want to grow into an industrial maintenance career, let's get you on the crew!
Description for Maintenance Laborer:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) across heavy industrial yard equipment, conveyors, and processing machinery.
- Execute daily greasing, lubrication, oil checks, and fluid top-offs according to maintenance schedules.
- Utilize standard hand and power tools to assist maintenance technicians with equipment teardowns, parts replacements, and mechanical adjustments.
- Assist with general shop fabrication, torch cutting, and basic welding repairs as needed (with training opportunities available!).
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free shop bays, staging areas, and tool cribs.
- Strictly adhere to industrial facility safety standards, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
Details for Maintenance Laborer:
- Pay Rate: $22.00 $25.00 / hour (Scaling cleanly based on Depth of Experience / DOE).
- Schedule: Full-Time Monday Friday (Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule with weekends OFF!).
- Shift Hours: Day Shift (Starting between 6:00 AM 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM).
- Location: St. Helens / Regional Cowlitz County service area.
- Position Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire path featuring long-term industrial career growth.
Requirements for Maintenance Laborer:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of common hand and power tools.
- Basic understanding of equipment lubrication, greasing points, and preventative maintenance concepts.
- Welding experience is NOT required, but an interest in learning industrial welding and fabrication is a huge plus!
- Physical capability to handle heavy industrial laborstanding all shift, bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting 5075 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working in active indoor/outdoor industrial yard environments in all weather conditions.
- Exceptional record of daily attendance, prompt punctuality, and a safety-conscious attitude.
