Job Title: Maintenance Lead Date: July 2026

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

Summary

This role is primarily a hands-on maintenance technician who also coordinates the day-to-day maintenance work. The Maintenance Lead performs PMs and repairs, runs daily maintenance activities on the floor, guides and supports the maintenance team and serves as the main maintenance contact for production. The role also manages work orders and vendors, handles purchasing and documentation, and works with and takes direction from the Manufacturing Manager on overall decisions, priorities, and strategic initiatives to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs on production equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and basic pneumatic/hydraulic issues
  • Support daily maintenance tasks, inspections, and housekeeping
  • Work alongside team to lead and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team
  • Prioritize, assign, and follow up on work orders
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to align maintenance activities with production plans, safety requirements, and strategic objectives
  • Serve as primary maintenance contact for production and other departments
  • Escort and coordinate external vendors and contractors
  • Work with vendors to schedule service, obtain quotes, and resolve issues
  • Enter purchase requisitions for parts, tools, and services
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, PM schedules, and CMMS data
  • Support and help implement improvements to maintenance procedures and best practices
  • Assist with training and onboarding of maintenance team members
  • Help coordinate minor projects and equipment upgrades as directed by the Manufacturing Manager
  • Promote and follow all safety practices and model FMD values

Qualifications

  • Industrial or facility maintenance experience required
  • Experience in a lead, senior technician, or coordinator role preferred
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read manuals, schematics, and work instructions
  • Comfortable on the shop floor and in CMMS/ERP/admin systems
  • Strong organization, time-management, and prioritization skills
  • Effective communication across departments and with vendors
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement
