Maintenance Lead 

Buffalo, NY(Onsite)

The Industrial and Building Maintenance Lead oversees the repair and upkeep of facility structures and production machinery. This hands-on, supervisory role manages maintenance personnel, directs preventive maintenance programs, enforces safety protocols, and coordinates with external contractors to minimize equipment downtime and ensure smooth facility operations. 

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance personnel, assigning daily tasks and emergency repair work. 

Preventive Maintenance (PM): Develop, execute, and document PM programs for industrial machinery, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems. 

Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment failures, stepping in to perform repairs when necessary. 


Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work meets OSHA regulations, building codes, and company quality standards. Enforce the use of PPE and proper lockout/tagout procedures. 
 

Inventory & Vendor Management: Oversee spare parts inventory, order operating supplies, and assist in managing external contractors for specialized or large-scale repairs. 


Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, track repair costs, and monitor facility.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or vocational certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or HVAC is preferred. Typically requires 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity. 
 

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in industrial troubleshooting (PLCs, relay logic, motors, conveyors, hydraulics) and facility systems (boilers, chillers, building automation). 
 

Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, team motivation, and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
