Royal Waste Services, a Waste Connections Company, is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to support repairs and preventative maintenance on forklifts, small loaders, and other equipment used in our recycling facility. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technician with solid mechanical skills who can keep equipment safe, reliable, and operational in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
+ Perform preventative maintenance (lubrication, filters, adjustments, inspections).
+ Repair and maintain:
+ Forklifts
+ Small payloaders
+ Skid steers
+ Other facility equipment
+ Assist with basic hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting.
+ Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Safety & Compliance
+ Follow all company, OSHA, and equipment‑specific safety procedures.
+ Perform proper lockout/tagout during repairs.
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Documentation & Reporting
+ Complete work orders and maintenance logs accurately.
+ Track parts usage and communication needs to the Maintenance Manager
+ Report recurring issues or equipment concerns promptly
Shop & Field Support
+ Assist with equipment inspections and readiness checks.
+ Support operations by ensuring equipment is available and functioning
+ Coordinate with vendors for parts or specialized repairs when needed
Qualifications
+ 1–3 years of experience in equipment or facility maintenance (industrial, warehouse, or waste industry preferred).
+ Basic knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
+ Ability to read simple schematics or equipment manuals
+ Ability to perform repairs with minimal supervision
+ Valid driver’s license
+ Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
