Adecco is hiring a Maintenance Machinist to join our client's team in Lenexa, Kansas. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and plays a critical role in maintaining and improving manufacturing operations. Position Overview
The Maintenance Machinist is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, machining replacement parts, fabricating fixtures, and supporting overall facility operations. This role combines hands-on maintenance, machining, troubleshooting, and fabrication to ensure equipment runs efficiently and downtime is minimized.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Diagnose and resolve equipment failures to reduce downtime
Fabricate, modify, and repair production fixtures, tooling, and components
Operate manual machining equipment, including Bridgeport mills and lathes
Reverse engineer parts and assemblies when drawings are not available
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance documentation
Support 5S initiatives and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Follow all safety policies and OSHA requirements
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet operational goals
End mill and Lathe operations
Qualifications
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Experience with manual machining (mills, lathes, and shop equipment)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics
Experience with fabrication and fixture building
Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Welding experience is a plus
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Technical training or machining certification preferred
Minimum of 3+ years of machining, maintenance, or related manufacturing experience preferred
Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred
