Maintenance Supervisor, Armament is the principal assistant to the Project Manager on all matters pertaining to the maintenance armament mission. Overseas and coordinates the inspection, repair, and operational readiness of military weapons, small arms, artillery, and tactical armament systems. Responsible for evaluating problematic systems and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed.

Responsibilities:

• Hires workers, organizes schedules, and assigns work activity.
• They may perform training to ensure individuals have all the requisite skills.
• Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing maintenance procedures and maintaining personnel skills records.
• Supervisors evaluate each worker's performance to ensure quality operations. They also investigate accidents and prepare relevant reports. Additionally, Maintenance Supervisors must possess:

Supervision and Leadership: 

• Directs maintenance crews and technicians performing field-level or direct-support maintenance on weapons and weapon systems. Mentions and trains subordinate soldiers.

Operations and Scheduling:

• Plans work schedules, assigns workloads based on personnel capabilities, and estimates the time required for repairs.

Quality and Safety Control:

• Ensures strict adherence to safety standards, technical manuals, and schematic diagrams. Manages quality control and production control programs.

Accountability and Administration:

• Manages equipment accountability, inventory, technical publication files, and maintenance records or reports.

Experience:

• Extensive hands-on experience in feeder military occupational specialties (such as small arms repair or tactical maintenance).

Technical Knowledge:

• Deep understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and fire-control systems related to weaponry.

Leadership Skills:

• Ability to manage team workflows, mentor personnel, and enforce compliance with military regulations

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of documented supervisory experience and a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in U.S. Army material maintenance.
• Skills in verbal and written communications to conduct meetings, execute plans, and prepare reports, plans, and working instructions
• Ability to provide information and reports, resolve issues and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to the customers
• Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening
• Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation result and obtain/maintain a CAC. 
• Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Desired Qualification:

• 10+ years of shop level experience as a technician and understanding of quality systems
• 10+ years Army maintenance experience
• 45 series U.S. Army Military Occupational Specialty Maintenance Experience
• Valid Driver License
• Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement
• Minimum of Highschool Diploma or Equivalent

Pay Range: $65K / Annually. 

 

Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and shop environments and is regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.

 

This position is contingent upon contract award and funding. Applicants selected may be hired but cannot begin work until funding has been confirmed.
