The ideal candidate will be accountable for overseeing the engineering support functions that ensure all plant projects and equipment upgrades are carried out safely and efficiently. This role involves meticulous planning and execution of accredited plant projects, supervision of vendors and contractors, and providing expert guidance on preventive maintenance schedules to enhance plant operations. You will have the leadership responsibility for motivating and managing the on-site maintenance team and offering technical expertise to drive improvements throughout various plant processes.
Key responsibilities include organizing and evaluating critical plant functions to optimize maintenance predictability and minimize production costs. This includes leading performance assessments and diagnostics on plant systems, employing advanced analytical tools to identify and preemptively address equipment concerns, and supporting routine maintenance scheduling and outage planning. You are expected to evaluate the root causes of any equipment failures and partner with the Operations Manager to ensure major maintenance schedules for combustion turbines are streamlined.
Additionally, you will be coordinating maintenance tasks to comply with safety and environmental guidelines, managing the CMMS program effectively to optimize work order priorities, inventory, and materials procurement. Other duties encompass aiding in annual budget preparations, enhancing team capabilities through coaching, and conducting comprehensive site inspections during outages to assure quality standards. You will liaise frequently with the corporate engineering team and external vendors, maintaining continuous communication with plant staff to resolve issues and share crucial insights.
Candidates should possess a robust proficiency in Maximo CMMS and MS Office applications, especially Excel. Occasional travel and the flexibility to be on-call for emergencies are required. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification, alongside at least a decade of relevant experience in the power plant sector, are requisite for this position.
