Our client is a leading global manufacturerspecializing in synthetic filaments for a wide range of applications. They are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at their facility in Columbia, SC.
This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, maximizing uptime, improving preventative maintenance programs, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on troubleshooting experience, and the ability to build a culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians while fostering a hands-on, lead-by-example culture
Oversee daily maintenance activities, staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management
Develop, implement, and improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
Troubleshoot and support mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems
Analyze maintenance KPIs, downtime trends, and equipment performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Utilize CMMS systems and maintenance data for planning, tracking, and decision-making
Manage spare parts inventory, vendor relationships, and procurement processes to ensure critical components are available
Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement long-term corrective actions to prevent recurring failures
Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety standards, and company policies while promoting a strong safety culture
Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and compliance documentation
Drive 5S, lean manufacturing, and operational excellence initiatives across the maintenance function
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
5+ years of maintenance leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, or processing environments
Strong hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and CMMS systems
Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement measurable improvements
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and maintenance best practices
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Experience with spare parts inventory management and equipment reliability strategies preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
