Maintenance Manager - Industrial - Lee, MA

The Maintenance Manager will lead all maintenance and reliability functions for a large manufacturing operation, ensuring safe and efficient plant performance while developing a high-performing technical team. This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational involvement to improve uptime, reduce costs, and drive long-term asset reliability.

Description

The Maintenance Manager will report into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

• Lead and develop a team of maintenance professionals while fostering a strong safety-first culture.
• Drive equipment reliability through preventive, predictive, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, shutdown activities, backlog reduction, and resource allocation.
• Oversee repair and maintenance budgets, forecasting, and capital improvement projects.
• Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring failures.
• Manage vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure safe and cost-effective execution.
• Optimize spare parts inventory and asset lifecycle strategies.
• Partner with plant leadership to improve uptime, productivity, and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable industrial regulations and standards.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing and reliability best practices throughout the facility.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of maintenance, reliability, engineering, or skilled trades experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading maintenance teams in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, utilities, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, drives, and rotating equipment.
• Experience managing maintenance budgets, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of CMMS/ERP systems and maintenance performance metrics.
• Demonstrated success improving reliability, reducing downtime, and developing technical teams.
• Lean Manufacturing experience required; Six Sigma certification is a plus.
• Ability to support planned shutdowns and emergency response activities when needed.
