Maintenance Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Facilities and Maintenance Manager to lead and work alongside our maintenance team at our printed circuit board manufacturing facility in Chatsworth, CA. This individual will oversee all aspects of facilities and equipment maintenance—including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and continuous improvement—while actively participating in daily maintenance tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and schedule the maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operation of all equipment and facilities systems.
• Perform and oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities on manufacturing, facility, and utility systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues with conveyors, electrical systems, plumbing/piping, HVAC, compressors, and related equipment.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to support process improvements, equipment installations, and system upgrades.
• Manage facilities maintenance activities including building upkeep, minor construction, and contracted services.
• Maintain parts inventory and make stocking recommendations to balance cost savings and equipment uptime.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures, schedules, and documentation to promote consistent standards and safety compliance.
• Ensure adherence to all company safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other OSHA-required practices.
• Monitor facility systems to reduce downtime and improve energy efficiency.
• Participate in Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities and facility inspections as applicable.
• Provide reports on maintenance performance, costs, and continuous improvement activities to senior management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of conveyorized and automated equipment, electrical systems, plumbing/piping, and HVAC systems.
• PLC familiarity and light welding experience preferred but not required.
• Proven ability to balance management tasks with hands-on maintenance work.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Computer proficiency (Windows, Word, Excel); experience with CMMS a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and work in physically active environments including ladders, rooftops, and confined spaces as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 30 lbs regularly.
• Comfortable working with tools that vibrate (e.g., grinders, drills).
• Willingness to work with chemicals (e.g., solder, resin) and fine debris from cutting/sanding tasks.

Working Conditions

• Possible exposure to chemicals, dust, and elevated noise levels.
• Work in a clean room environment may be required.
• Occasional on-call responsibilities, overtime, and off-shift work.
