HSS is seeking a Maintenance Manager for our client located in the Ocean City, MD area.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all engineering and maintenance operations for a resort property. This role is responsible for maintaining the building, grounds, mechanical systems, and overall physical plant to ensure a safe, efficient, and exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience managing preventative maintenance and capital improvement projects within a hotel or resort environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the property
  • Maintain HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, water treatment, and life safety systems
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs and schedules
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and brand standards
  • Manage maintenance budgets, departmental expenses, and capital projects
  • Inspect facilities and determine repair, replacement, and renovation needs
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers on repair projects and services
  • Supervise and support engineering staff in daily operations and repairs
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and maintenance documentation
  • Ensure building exterior, grounds, and curb appeal standards are maintained
  • Handle guest maintenance concerns and resolve issues promptly
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop maintenance team members
  • Conduct departmental meetings and maintain clear communication with staff
  • Foster a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Support hotel emergency preparedness and life safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance leadership experience in hospitality or resort operations
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical systems
  • Experience managing preventative maintenance and capital projects
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently
  • Experience managing budgets and departmental expenses
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift equipment, use ladders/lifts, and work throughout the property as needed
  • Strong commitment to guest service and operational excellence

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $85,000-$95,000 and based on experience.

Additional compensation may include discretionary bonus opportunities.
