Maintenance Manager

Position Title: Maintenance Manager

Location: Racine, Wisconsin

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a beloved, fourth-generation family-owned food manufacturing company with deep roots, an authentic culture, and serious growth momentum. Withmultiple facilities across the greater Racine & Milwaukee area, this organization produces iconic baked goods at scale and delivers products wholesale, through retail storefronts, and via a rapidly growing e-commerce channel.

The right leader will step into a highly visible role with real impact, reporting directly to an operations leader who is transparent, direct, and refreshingly free of bureaucracy. This is a builder's role — the kind that doesn't come along often. You'll lead a team of technicians and you'll have the runway to create and own a maintenance program from the ground up, establishing KPIs, driving an operating system, and bringing stability and pride to a team that's eager for leadership. The equipment environment is straightforward — conveyors, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics — so the emphasis here is on character and people skills as much as technical chops. The culture is collaborative, genuine, and deeply passionate about the product. If you're someone who leads by caring, earns trust through honesty, and wants to make a tangible difference in a place where your work truly matters, this opportunity will feel like home.

Responsibilities:
  • Managing the site-wide maintenance function, including packaging, process, mechanical, electrical, building maintenance, and stationary engineering
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance regarding health & safety, and environmental standards
  • Working with external engineering & technical services partners as needed
  • Building the Maintenance team's technical & functional capabilities
  • Assuming total responsibility for the Maintenance Department budget ensuring proper expenditures and accountability
  • Strategic development of the maintenance department to a best-in-class level
  • Focusing on the development of the Maintenance team to continually improve maintenance strategies and equipment efficiencies
  • Supporting teamwork and collaboration between Maintenance and other departments
  • Actively participating in the daily production meeting as a key component of the operating team (as needed)
  • Procurement process (vendor selection, ordering, receiving) up to $10,000
  • Discipline – Safety and Regulatory protocol
  • Discipline - Non safety - Final Approvals
  • Delivering Performance Appraisals for direct reports as needed
  • Approving Hiring Decisions
  • Contract signing
  • Shutdown scheduling
Required Qualifications:
  • Experienced in a Management capacity within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices as well as the concepts of Best in Class Maintenance and Process Control
  • Strong emphasis on developing team capabilities. Enjoys working with others and sees teamwork as a more productive environment. Will recognize others achievements and improvements as well as dealing with conflict effectively
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels through excellent active listening skills, communication, and facilitation skills
  • High degree of computer & systems knowledge
  • Familiarity with 5S and Lean Practices
  • A builder and strong leader, committed to improving operating efficiencies through effective PM / PDM
  • An effective team player with a good sense of priorities, able to manage well under pressure with a proven track record in managing people
  • Experience managing budget, planning, and strong communications skills
