Caterpillar is seeking a Weekend Maintenance Manager in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for leading maintenance operations that support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing performance. This leader oversees maintenance personnel, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability initiatives, and maintenance planning activities. The role partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and safety teams to minimize downtime and improve operational performance.

What you can look forward to in this role:

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance professionals.
  • Create workforce plans, assign work priorities, and ensure maintenance objectives are achieved.
  • Direct preventive, predictive, corrective, and reliability-centered maintenance activities.
  • Review and prioritize maintenance work orders to maximize equipment availability and plant performance.
  • Ensure equipment repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
  • Monitor maintenance effectiveness through key reliability and performance indicators.
  • Drive root cause analysis activities to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
  • Lead reliability improvement projects and facility modernization initiatives.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

  • Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): Knowledge of total productive maintenance principles, methods, and processes; ability to maximize machinery effectiveness through active involvement of all supporting departments.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

  • A degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related discipline.
  • Experience leading maintenance operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs.
  • Strong understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience managing capital improvement projects.

  • Caterpillar will provide a cash sign-on bonus to selected candidates who apply by 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, July 19 in the amount of $1500, less applicable withholdings and taxes, to be paid as soon as administratively practical upon completion of your first day of employment.
  • This position will be three 12 hour shifts Friday- Sunday

Summary Pay Range:

$81,370.00 - $122,060.00
