Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading a high-performing maintenance team that delivers safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role balances leadership, technical expertise, and execution, ensuring equipment uptime and plant performance through strong preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

The Maintenance Manager builds team capability, drives accountability, and partners cross-functionally to support production, customer needs, and asset performance.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Required:

• 7+ years in maintenance leadership roles
• Strong background in industrial maintenance (mechanical/electrical systems)
• Experience with CMMS systems and work order processes
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams
• Process oriented, results driven
• Technology –Efficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Power Point, Word), and able to use them to communicate priorities, issues and opportunities

Preferred :

• Associate degree or higher in a technical field
• Experience with packaging or automated manufacturing systems
• Lean / CI experience (TPM, Six Sigma, etc.)
• Project management and capital installation experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safety

1. Foster a proactive safety culture in all maintenance activities
2. Ensure full compliance with:
3. • OSHA, LOTO, electrical safety, confined space, hot work, working at heights
4. Ensure all maintenance work is executed safely and equipment operates safely
5. Lead safety observations and risk elimination efforts
6. Maintain strong 5S and housekeeping standards across all maintenance areas

Quality

1. Ensure all equipment supports consistent, quality output
2. Support investigations into quality issues and corrective actions
3. Maintain compliance with internal standards, audits, and applicable regulation
4. Ensure equipment is set up and maintained to support efficient production
5. Support production start-ups, transitions, and troubleshooting in real time
6. Champion continuous improvement using Lean / CI tools
7. Provide technical input on equipment design, upgrades, and process

People

1. Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians into a high-performing team
2. Build technical capability through structured training and skill development
3. Set clear goals and expectations for performance, accountability, and work quality
4. Identify and develop future leaders within the team
5. Drive engagement, recognition, and a culture of ownership
6. Partner with Site Operations, Engineering and Corporate Teams to support  the site

Productivity

1. Own and execute the site maintenance strategy, including:
2. • Preventive Maintenance (PM)
   • Predictive / condition-based maintenance (as applicable)
3. Ensure all PMs and work orders are completed safely, on time, and correctly
4. Drive improvements in equipment uptime, reliability, and responsiveness
5. Lead troubleshooting and ensure rapid, effective resolution of equipment issues
6. Perform and lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes
7. Reduce repeat failures and unplanned downtime through structured problem-solving
8. Own and improve the CMMS
9. • Work orders, PM schedules, asset history, and spare parts
10. Ensure accurate documentation of all maintenance activity and downtime
11. stablish strong planning and scheduling discipline aligned to production needs
12. Maintain appropriate spare parts inventory to support uptime
13. Use data and trends to prioritize work and drive decision-making

Customer Value

1. Support capital projects, installations, and equipment upgrades
2. Participate in design reviews, commissioning, and launch readiness
3. Evaluate new technologies that improve safety, reliability, or productivity
4. Manage vendors, contractors, and external technical resources as needed

Financial

1. Manage maintenance budget, repair costs, and service spending
2. Understand and provide ROI or other financial analysis when needed
3. Optimize cost through effective parts sourcing and vendor management
4. Identify cost-saving opportunities through reliability improvements
