Carlow University is currently accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Mechanic II. The purpose of this role is to perform work required for repair and maintenance of campus structures and systems. Requires thoroughness and attention to detail and operates within the policies, procedures and the University's mission. Applicants must demonstrate and reflect an understanding of and commitment to the mission and core values of Carlow University and the Sisters of Mercy.
This is skilled journey level work position in several trades. An employee in this class performs various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings and equipment. Work involves proficiency in several trades, with working conditions and the degree of lead work exercised differing by location and the nature of assignments. Employees exercise technical independence in determining work methods and procedures, and receive assignments orally or through written instructions, which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams. Review of work is received from technical or administrative superiors through inspections and discussions.
