Job Summary:
This is an entry-level maintenance mechanic position. Responsibilities include:
• Under supervision of higher-level mechanic, have the ability to learn proper troubleshooting and repairing of equipment associated in production in a timely manner as well as the maintenance of all building support equipment, including but not limited to air, water, steam, hydraulic, refrigeration, and electric systems.
Job Responsibilities:
Properly troubleshoot and repair all equipment associated with in the production facility, in a timely manner with supervision.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all production, and warehouse equipment; • Properly perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, and plumbing duties as required; • Rebuild/replace equipment as needed, including but not limited to pumps, gear boxes, bearings, bushings, chains, bundler headers, conveyors, etc. • Complete assigned work orders by their required due dates; • Complete assigned housekeeping duties as required; • Communicate to Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager of any condition that prevents the manufacture of product to established standards; • Work in a safe manner, in compliance with Company, State and Federal GMP's, SOP's and company Policy and Procedures; • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, and emergencies, as needed; • Possess own basic hand tools necessary to perform the requirements of the position; • Work effectively as part of a team and display a positive attitude.

Education and Experience:
Must take in-house mechanical aptitude test.
Basic math and reading skills;
Ability to work independently or in a group/team atmosphere;
Good organizational and time management skills.

Climbing: Frequently - work must be performed while standing on ladders
Squatting / Crouching: Frequently
Use of Hands / Wrists / Arms: Frequently.
Twisting of wrists: Frequently.
Lifting: Light (< 30 lbs. frequently, > 30 lbs. occasionally).
Carrying: Light (30-50 lbs.) frequently, distance 30 yards.
Pushing/Pulling: Under 75 lbs. without assistance frequently.
Pushing/Pulling: Over 75 lbs. with assistance occasionally.
Ability to withstand varying temperatures ranging anywhere from 100°F to -40°F for varied periods of time.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment with moving parts;
High noise levels;
Outdoor temperature ranges from 95° and higher to -5° and lower;
Indoor temperature ranges from 80° and higher to -30° and lower;
Wet, damp and icy conditions;
Chemical hazards including cleaning and refrigeration chemicals.
Safety Responsibilities:
Work in a safe and responsible manner at all times, following all safety policies, procedures, and rules;
Report unsafe observations or conditions to a supervisor or manager;
Immediately report an injury or accident to a supervisor or manager;
Meet all company requirements for training, including Log Out/Tag Out, confined space, electrical safety, Hazmat Technician, hot work, ladder, fall protection, fire safety, etc.
SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:
Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner following prescribed procedures;
Report food safety problems to a supervisor or manager;
Maintain the preventative maintenance program.
