Duration: 12+ Months Contract 
Location: Abbott Park, IL 60064 (Onsite)
Shift: 1st Shift: 6 AM - 2:30 PM
Description:

• Client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving plant equipment and utility systems.
• This position plays a critical role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while supporting preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
• The Maintenance Mechanic will serve as a technical resource to manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams, responding to equipment issues, performing planned maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement efforts to minimize downtime and maximize production throughput.

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, filling, packaging, and conveying equipment.
• Respond to equipment failures, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Perform welding, fabrication, piping installation, pump and motor repairs, and equipment rebuilds.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Maintain maintenance records, spare parts inventory, and repair documentation.
• Support production operations while ensuring compliance with FDA, GMP, OSHA, USDA, and Client standards.

• Minimum 3-5 years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or mechanical/electrical technician experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience working with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience supporting high-speed manufacturing or packaging equipment.

• Food, pharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environment experience.
• Experience working within FDA/GMP-regulated facilities.
• Experience troubleshooting high-speed filling, packaging, and conveying systems.
• Experience with barcode scanners, inkjet printers, and automated production equipment.
• Experience with CMMS or computerized maintenance management systems.
• Experience performing TIG, MIG, or stainless-steel welding.
• Industrial electrical experience and knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical certification, vocational training, apprenticeship, or military maintenance experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and hands-on maintenance experience will be considered.
