Maintenance Mechanic - Canton, OH - JOB 26-00493
Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00/HR Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits
1st shift, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (M – F)
A leading manufacture in the Canton, Ohio area is hiring an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Mechanic / Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of vital production equipment and plant facility systems, focusing heavily on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine PMs on all production machinery and plant systems to ensure peak operational efficiency.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues quickly to minimize production downtime.
- Repair and maintain 3-phase electrical equipment up to 480 volts.
- Replace faulty motors, bearings, belts, gearboxes, pumps, sensors, and other critical machine components.
- Read and accurately interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Support shop utilities, including air compressors, lighting, overhead doors, and basic building infrastructure.
- Assist in installing, relocating, and setting up new machinery.
- Follow all safety protocols, including strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Accurately complete work orders, log PM activities, and assist with managing spare parts inventory.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Technical or vocational training is highly preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and 3-phase electrical systems (up to 480V).
- Proficient in troubleshooting complex industrial machinery using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Dedication to safety guidelines, specifically LOTO procedures.
- OSHA 30-Hour training or certification is a strong plus.
