Summary:
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repair and upkeep of all buildings, tools and equipment. Responsible for providing preventative maintenance including a safe and sanitary environment to the plant and surrounding grounds.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance Technician:
- Assess maintenance and repair problems with follow-up.
- Diagnose vehicle issues using inspection, testing and diagnostic tools.
- Perform PM services on Lift trucks, Vans and Box trucks.
- Repair or replace worn or damage components. (Brakes, engine components, hydraulics, transmissions, differentials).
- Perform minor plumbing and electrical work and repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
- Record work performed and parts used.
- Maintain service records and inspection reports.
- Learn set-up, operation, adjustments and operating parameters of production equipment.
- Develop open communication with machine operators, department supervisors and managers.
- Bring production equipment to a good operating standard and improve work order system and develop a return to service, i.e. production certification.
- Repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production.
- Paint any necessary areas, as needed.
- Work on new installation projects.
- Perform walk-throughs as assigned to spot possible problems.
- Remedy any unsafe conditions ASAP.
- Safety must be first priority and repair aesthetic defects i.e. seals, hinges, hangers, etc. when production maintenance and breakdowns allow.
2.CDL Driving:
- Driving a commercial vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) up to and over 26,000 lbs.
- Prepares receipts for load pickups.
- Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations, if required.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions.
- Loads and unloads truck/commercial vehicle if needed.
- Verifies loads for accuracy and delivers them as requested.
- Inspects vehicle prior to departure and on return to ensure vehicle maintenance continuity.
- Ensures equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water are maintained.
- Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit if necessary.
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.
What you bring to Pacific Seafood
Required:
- Knowledge of combustible engines
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ related experience and/or training
- Valid CDL Class A Driver’s License
Preferred:
- Experience in mechanical engineering, construction, or the food industry.
- Experience operating a forklift.
Physical Requirements:

- Capable of occasional travel as required by duties, demonstrating efficiency and effectiveness in diverse locations.
- Capable of operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, including a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
- Capable of frequently communicating with team members and stakeholders, accurately conveying detailed or important spoken instructions.
- Capable of perceiving visuals for activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, and engaging in extensive reading.

- Office, as well as warehouse environment.

- Occasional subtle and mild scents related to the production facility
