Maintenance Mechanic Cincinnati, OH Full time, Direct Placement role Pay : $35.97 per hour 26-02317 Job Summary The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing frontline maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plant equipment to support production operations. This role performs a combination of mechanical and basic electrical maintenance tasks, including equipment repair, lubrication, and component replacement. The General Craftsman works closely with operations and maintenance teams to maintain equipment reliability, assist with instrumentation installation, and ensure safety procedures are followed. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to prioritize maintenance tasks, and the capability to work independently once trained.
Job Responsibilities
Perform routine mechanical maintenance and repairs on plant equipment including pumps, gearboxes, and conveyor systems.
Conduct equipment lubrication and identify signs of mechanical wear such as bearing failure or component degradation.
Support fluid handling systems including valves, piping, and slurry transfer equipment.
Perform basic electrical tasks including wiring, motor replacement, and continuity testing using a multimeter.
Assist instrumentation and electrical specialists with installation and termination of field instruments such as flow meters and pressure transmitters.
Maintain accurate spare parts inventory records and verify physical inventory against system data.
Conduct safety checks and support equipment interlock testing while following lockout and tagout procedures.
Select appropriate tools and materials to complete standard repairs efficiently and safely.
Evaluate minor mechanical issues to determine whether components should be repaired or replaced.
Prioritize maintenance tasks and work orders based on production impact and safety considerations.
Communicate effectively with operators and maintenance team members to support plant operations.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical school certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.
Strong mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to select proper tools and materials for maintenance tasks.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of safety procedures and industrial maintenance practices.
Work Experience
0–10 years of experience
Open to Entry Level candidates that come from Trade School or an Apprenticeship
Experience in chemical processing, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
Experience working with pumps, conveyors, valves, and fluid handling systems preferred.
Experience using maintenance management or inventory systems such as SAP is a plus.
