Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a dynamic forging operation. This role requires you to troubleshoot and repair production equipment during breakdown situations, perform preventative maintenance, and diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical issues. You will be working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, maintaining forge presses, induction furnaces, conveyors, CNC equipment, and plant support equipment.


Responsibilities


+ Troubleshoot and repair production equipment during breakdown situations.

+ Perform preventative maintenance activities as scheduled.

+ Diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and basic electrical issues.

+ Maintain forge presses, induction furnaces, conveyors, CNC equipment, and plant support equipment.

+ Utilize CMMS software to document repairs, track work orders, and manage parts usage.

+ Safely operate cranes, hoists, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.

+ Support production by minimizing machine downtime and ensuring equipment reliability.

+ Attend shift meetings to prioritize maintenance activities.

+ Follow all safety procedures and maintenance standards.


Essential Skills


+ Minimum 4 years of industrial maintenance experience.

+ Experience performing reactive/breakdown maintenance.

+ Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability.

+ Advanced hydraulics and pneumatics experience.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.

+ Experience working on large industrial machinery.

+ Comfortable working in a heavy manufacturing/forging environment.

+ Stable work history with strong attendance record.

+ High School Diploma or GED.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Forging industry experience.

+ Heavy industrial maintenance background.

+ Experience maintaining forge presses and induction furnaces.

+ CNC maintenance experience.

+ Welding or fabrication experience.

+ CMMS experience.

+ Predictive Maintenance experience such as Thermography, Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, and Ultrasound.

+ Technical training, trade school, or military maintenance background.

Work Environment


This heavy-duty manufacturing facility is located in a forging environment with large press machines and AJAX Induction Heating Furnaces. The environment is dark, hot, and physically demanding due to the work nature. The facility is not temperature-controlled, and production is loud and can become extremely hot, especially in summer. Additional cooling breaks are provided during summer months. Candidates must be comfortable working around large industrial equipment and production processes.
