Responsibilities

Maintenance Mechanic

  • Wage: $15/hour

  • Full-time and part-time positions available

  • Day/Evening/Night shifts available

  • Background check, drug screen, and proof of employment eligibility required

  • Location: Cuero Community Hospital


We’re looking for friendly, compassionate, team players to join our facility management team!

Perform routine and preventative maintenance and repair procedures on all hospital buildings, mechanical equipment, and utility systems. Perform repairs and provide support for plumbing, maintenance, and carpentry functions.

Responsibilities 

  • Perform minor and major repairs and preventative maintenance on all building mechanical equipment and plant facilities

  • Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance, and carpentry functions

  • Clean and inspect boilers; evaluate water treatment for proper chemical usage

  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklist of building maintenance

  • Maintain accurate records of scheduled maintenance procedures

  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required 

  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

  • Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently

Qualifications 

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment

  • Must practice good personal hygiene, be neatly groomed, and be in uniform

  • GED or high school diploma

  • Preferred: Maintenance experience (plumbing, carpenter, construction, facilities management)

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout a shift

  • Pushing and pulling carts or equipment (over 100 lb.) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift

  • Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job (hand and power tools, electric meters, and material-handling equipment)
