Maintenance Mechanic

Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour
Location: Hicksville, NY
Duration: 5 Months

Summary:

• 1pm-10pm, subject to change Mon-Fri, some weekends

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose problems and determine the extent of repairs or adjustments needed for equipment.
• Maintain, adjust, repair, rebuild, and overhaul equipment.
• Enter repair orders and keep maintenance records of time spent, materials, and parts used in an automated system.
• Organize, clean, and maintain the workshop area.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.

Requirements:

• Able to read and understand maintenance and specification manuals.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Capable of preparing work orders and records of service performed.
• Communicate and work effectively with all associates.
• Physical dexterity and ability to perform preventive maintenance on complex equipment.
• Able to perform all duties of a mechanic's helper without supervision.
• Standing for the entire shift, lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, and working around moving equipment.
• Working in hot/cold temperatures regularly.
• Required: Steel Toed Shoes.
• Fluent and able to read and write in either English or Spanish due to onsite safety requirements.
• May need to access locations over 8 feet, work with a manlift, operate a machine, use a respirator, or work in confined spaces.
