    Description

    Currently there is an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic I in our Aramid division on 2nd shift (2:30PM to 10:30PM Mon-Friday). This position will ensure all plant equipment and machinery is maintained in working order. Build and rebuild equipment to meet manufacturing needs. Perform general building and site maintenance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Help to maintain equipment in the Business Unit.
    • Keep all equipment in safe operating condition.
    • Maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
    • Installing and assembling new machines and equipment.
    • Fabricate fixtures, guards or parts to maintain or improve the equipment.
    • Perform minor electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, welding or machine work to maintain the equipment.
    • Make out purchase requisitions for repair parts and replacement stock items.
    • Help to keep stock items in inventory.
    • Maintain all records of repairs made to equipment.
    • Following industry best practices, SOP's, LOTO procedures, and other safety guidelines.
    • Diagnose and repair machine or equipment failures.
    • Using power tools and different hand tools to complete assigned maintenance tasks.
    • Work more or less independently or with a more skilled mechanic.
    • Provide the customer with the best value including Cost, Quality, and Delivery.
    • Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment and methods.
    • Handle internal and external questions in a prompt professional manner.
    • Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.
    • Continually looks for ways to improve job efficiency and performance.
    • Performs all reasonably related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • At least 1 year of progressively more responsible maintenance experience
    • Electrical maintenance experience preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work overtime

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
