We are seeking a skilled and experienced Trailer Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Inspect, diagnose, and perform repairs and maintenance on trailers (dry vans, reefers, flatbeds, etc.)
Perform preventative maintenance including brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, axles, lights, and flooring
Weld and fabricate trailer components as needed
Replace or repair damaged panels, doors, and frames
Maintain accurate service records and complete required documentation
Ensure work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations
Operate tools, equipment, and diagnostic software safely and efficiently
Communicate with dispatchers, service managers, and other team members to prioritize repairs
High school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred
Proven experience as a trailer mechanic or similar role
Proficiency with diagnostic and repair tools
Strong understanding of trailer mechanical and electrical systems
Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions
Shop and yard environment
May involve overtime or weekend shifts depending on workload
