Location: Minnetonka, MN
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $35.00 $35.50/hour (W2)
Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:30 PM 2:00 AM


Job Description
We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to support manufacturing operations by performing preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance activities on production equipment. This role requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with industrial equipment repair, and the ability to support a regulated manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience, the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and the ability to work effectively with production teams to maintain equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

What You ll Do
" Perform preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance, safety checks, repairs, installations, and modifications on production equipment.
" Document all maintenance repair activities and equipment updates using CMMS systems.
" Troubleshoot, repair, disassemble, inspect, and rebuild production equipment.
" Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
" Perform functional testing of production and assembly equipment after repairs.
" Use maintenance tools including micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, multimeters, and other precision measurement equipment.
" Read and interpret equipment drawings, electrical schematics, pneumatic schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
" Troubleshoot basic PLC-related issues and perform corrective actions as needed (PLC programming not required).
" Support automation equipment troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
" Maintain inventory by requisitioning spare parts, repair components, and emergency maintenance supplies.
" Respond to technical questions and provide effective solutions to equipment issues.
" Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
" Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.

Education and Experience
" High school diploma or equivalent required.
" Two-year technical/vocational training, military technical experience, or related maintenance education preferred.
" Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
" Experience repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting production equipment.
" Experience with equipment disassembly, inspection, repair, and rebuild activities.
" Electrical maintenance experience required.
" Basic PLC troubleshooting knowledge preferred.
" Experience working with automation equipment preferred.

Additional Role Details
" Supports maintenance activities on small bench-scale equipment and moderately sized production equipment.
" Equipment is not large or heavy industrial machinery.
" Strong preference for candidates with hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting experience rather than assembly-only backgrounds.
" Fabrication experience is not a primary requirement.
" Medical device, regulated manufacturing, or optics manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.

" Comfortable repairing and maintaining automated production equipment.
" Able to clearly explain previous maintenance work and problem-solving experience.
