Location Description

The Lawrence, Kansas facility is 236,000 square feet and home to about 200+ hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits. Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away. The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams.

Responsibilities

Weekend Maintenance Mechanic

Starting rate: $36.70 per hour

The schedule for the Weekend Maintenance Mechanic will be:

• Saturday - Monday with alternating Fridays
• 12-hour shifts, 6pm - 6am OR 6am - 6pm (shifts do not rotate)
• Shift premium: up to $1.50 per hour

Responsibilities

In the Maintenance Mechanic role, you will:

• Maintain and repair all plant equipment and facilities in a way that achieves customer satisfaction in support of the manufacturing of Kibbles 'n Bits
• Review work orders to ensure materials are available and develop manpower and scheduling estimates. Initiate work orders when work cannot be performed immediately
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspection functions and take the initiative to ensure these programs are modified and updated as needed
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly work area to ensure employee and food safety

Qualifications

The successful candidate (s) for this role will have the following qualifications:

• Possess a high school diploma or a GED
• Strong mechanical aptitude combined with good diagnostic skills
• Experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and facilities
• A proven track record of consistent performance delivering safety and quality
• Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions
• Ability to comply with a strict attendance policy
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability and willingness to communicate with cross functional teams
• Experience in food manufacturing preferred
