Maintenance Mechanic

Bonnie Brae, a Special Education School and Residential Treatment Facility for at risk youth, is currently seeking a full time, high energy Maintenance Mechanic for an In-House Maintenance Department which serves our Main Campus, as well as our community homes in New Brunswick, Bound Brook, Bridgewater and Chester. The Maintenance Mechanic’s responsibilities include but not limited to: carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, light electrical, plumbing, HVAC, event set-up, cleaning, deliveries, snow removal and ensuring compliance with the State of New Jersey and Joint Commission preventative maintenance schedules. Successful candidate will need to pass a New Jersey Department of Education and a New Jersey Department of Children & Families background check.

Starting hourly rate of $20.00/hr to $25.00/hr based on experience.

Shift is Monday to Friday.

Candidate will possess the following:

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities / Experience:

• Previous experience with:
  • Drywall repair.
  • Electrical, HVAC and light plumbing.
  • Painting.
  • Door and window repair.
  • Snow removal.
  • Performing preventative maintenance based on a schedule.
  • Office/room and event set up including moving furniture.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
• Provide on-call services as scheduled.
• Valid Driver’s license – not currently suspended or suspended over the last three years due to accidents or moving violations.
