Hours: 7:30 am to 5:30 pm (Tue - Fri) | Pay: $31 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Handle comfort complaints and perform preventive maintenance, repair of ice machines, refrigerators & freezer units, low temperature refrigeration systems, environmental chambers, incubators, air dryers, lab heating and cooling equipment, dehumidifiers, and stability chambers.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform all required tasks to return equipment to operation in a timely manner.
  • Provide skilled trade maintenance support to manufacturing, R&D, and office facilities.
  • Independently perform and understand maintenance work on a variety of HVAC/R equipment and systems.
  • Work as a multi-skilled tradesperson, performing mechanical, pipefitting, building maintenance, and other work as required.
  • Ensure GMP and safe work policies and procedures are followed and maintained.
  • Participate in work group team meetings and seek methods to improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot, order parts, and install parts and material on equipment such as motors, fans, electrical devices, air conditioners, air handlers, compressors, pumps, chillers, and boilers.
  • Perform preventative and demand maintenance work on plant HVAC/R equipment.
  • Install bearings, seals, belts, gaskets on HVAC/R equipment using various tools and test equipment.
  • Perform mechanical overhauls and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
  • Understand HVAC/R control theory and application to air handling systems in commercial/industrial environments.
  • Perform brazing and/or soldering of heating and cooling coils.
  • Perform troubleshooting and mechanical repairs and install refrigeration equipment and accessories according to company standards.
  • Evaluate the use of various resources and make knowledgeable decisions regarding safety and company standards.
  • Know CMMS functions related to refrigeration maintenance, PM, and related activities.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of formal training and work experience in commercial or industrial HVAC/R system maintenance.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of maintenance of HVAC/R system equipment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification by the Federal EPA for operation of refrigerant reclaiming equipment and proper usage and disposal of refrigerants.
