    Description

    Position Summary

    We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Mechanic to join our facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of facility machinery and mechanical equipment. From preventative maintenance on production systems to general facility electrical and plumbing repairs, you will play a critical role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and safely every day.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Mechanical & Equipment Maintenance: Install, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery, engines, motors, and pneumatic tools using precision-measuring instruments and power tools.
    • Preventative Care: Execute predictive and preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime for all facility equipment.
    • HVAC & Systems Monitoring: Inspect and monitor heating/AC units, change filters/belts, lubricate bearings, and clean evaporators and condenser cells.
    • Electrical & Plumbing: Perform routine electrical repairs (testing circuits, replacing switches/ballasts) and plumbing tasks (fixing leaks, unplugging drains, and installing new fixtures).
    • Fabrication: Perform welding, fabrication, and the assembly/disassembly of pumps, valves, and power transfer components.
    • Facility Upkeep: Handle interior/exterior painting and general wall prep; ensure work areas are kept clean and organized.
    • Safety & Documentation: Maintain accurate daily repair logs and strictly follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Mentorship: Provide on-the-job training and guidance to junior maintenance staff as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: 3-5 years of professional industrial or facility maintenance experience (Required).
    • Education: High school diploma or GED.
    • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer's specifications.
    • Physical Dexterity: Strong manual dexterity for operating heavy machinery and basic computer systems.
    • Soft Skills: Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and arithmetic; a proactive approach to troubleshooting.

    Physical Requirements & Work Environment

    • Physical Ability: Regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, and crouch. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
    • Work Environment: Comfortable working near moving mechanical parts in a loud industrial setting.
    • Safety Gear: Willingness to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
