Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble and install equipment such as drive motors, conveyors, and pulley assemblies.
- Aligns machines and equipment for proper operation.
- Repairs and lubricate material bulk handling machines and equipment to company/manufacture specifications.
- Perform certified stick welding operations as needed.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on equipment and make adjustments.
- Operate a variety of tools/equipment such as cutting torch, welder, forklift, aerial lifts, hand tools, power tools (impact wrench, drills, etc.), operate equipment that work is being performed on, and use electric test equipment.
- Participate in and promote safety and environmental programs.
- Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist coworkers and other departments on various jobs.
- Diagnose problems and maintain a variety of bulk handling equipment.
- Assist in the transportation and movement of mechanical equipment.
- Assembles machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
- Lubricates moving parts and operates repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements include:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
- 1-3 years’ experience required.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally.
- Must work schedule as assigned and overtime with little to no notice during the week, weekends, holiday, etc. as needed for operational needs.
- In order to appropriately perform the essential duties of this job, regular work attendance is required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC:
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers and must be willing to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment.
- Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locations.
- Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones such as background checks by the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
- Must be able to complete/pass DISA testing for entrance into refinery.
- Respiratory fit testing is required.
- Must possess heavy equipment operator’s certification for equipment being operated and when required.
