Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic provides hands-on mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing facility. All work must be done in accordance with all safety and best manufacturing practices in an efficient manner.

Desired Qualifications:

\n

·        The ability to follow a flexible work schedule and maintain a good attendance record.

\n

·        Ability to align pump and motor units using dial indicators to within .005 of an inch.

\n

·        Repair mechanical seals in pumps.

\n

·        Trouble shoot hydraulic systems including hydraulic control valves

\n

·        The ability to operate motorized equipment such as a Forklift, boom lifts, and aerial man lifts.

\n

·        Must be able to read dial indicators and callipers.

\n

·        Experience in troubleshooting pipe and valve train issues.

\n

·        Able to demonstrate respect for all individuals and adhere to the Company’s values and business practices.

\n

·        Working in a team/group environment

\n

·        Run screw piping

\n

·        Replace bearings in multiple types of rotating equipment

\n

·        Other duties as directed by the supervisor

\n

\n

*** The Maintenance Mechanic must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Expected Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

\n

Strong mechanical aptitude. A minimum of three years experience in an industrial maintenance environment; with emphasis on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Effective oral and written communication skills. The ability to multitask in a fast pace environment; work with minimal supervision; and make sound judgements. Maintain a high degree of integrity at all times. Able to work and participate successfully in a diverse team based environment to accomplish assignments and tasks. Must have the ability to follow verbal and written directions; as well as deliver the same. Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical systems, yielding fast turnaround times. Self starting ability which will yield efficient results.

Proven and Successful Experience Of

\n

·     Minimum 5 years experience working in an industrial manufacturing maintenance environment

\n

·     Be proficient in pump and motor pump repair.

\n

·     Proficient in precise measurement systems in SAE and Metric units.

\n

·     Be proficient in root cause analysis of mechanical systems and electrical systems.

\n

·     Have man lift and overhead crane operations and maintenance experience.

\n

·     Welding and fabrication experience not necessary but helpful.

\n

·     Prefer basic computer skills

\n

·     Have knowledge of working with Personal Protective Equipment such as Tyvek, respirators, safety glasses, and ear protection.

\n

·     Have knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures

\n

·     Have confined space working experience

\n

·     Have experience with proper operations of Hydraulic control valves, and hydraulic pumps

\n

·     Have experience rebuilding gear reducers, pumps, and piping trains.

\n

·     Have ability to properly repair/run piping.

\n

·     Be able to replace bearings as needed in rotating equipment

\n

·     Prefer experience in replacing motors, and troubleshooting electrical starters

\n

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, walk, talk, listen, bend, and use hands to operate hand and power tools. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, or kneel; as well as climb ladders to a height not exceeding 50 ft.  The employee is always required to maintain a high level of alertness. The employee is always required wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, approved steel-toed boots.  The employee could be required to wear a half-face or full-face respirator, and wear Tyvek suits.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to travel to multiple local work sites.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee always works in industrial environment. Conditions are consistent with an industrial shop environment such as sanding, grinding, dust, loud heavy industrial machines, and temperatures up to 110 degrees. Overtime is expected on an as needed basis.
