A prominent player in the food industry, renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation, is seeking Maintenance Mechanics for their operations in Reading, PA. This role is integral to the company's operations, ensuring all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards of readiness, safety, and professional quality.
The Maintenance Mechanics will inspect, maintain, repair, rebuild, and modify all equipment, facility, or facility ancillary equipment as needed, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the company's production processes.
This opening is for 2nd shift: 3pm - 11:30pm, Monday to Friday; must be available for overtime as needed, and regular shift may include a Saturday or Sunday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair or replace any part causing machinery breakdown in plant facilities. - Troubleshoot recurring breakdowns for prevention and recommend procedure changes. - Utilize testing equipment or diagnostic skills to determine the real cause of problems. - Instruct equipment operators as needed to prevent machine or system damage. - Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment in sound working condition. - Assist with facility repairs and maintenance as needed. - Maintain thorough documentation of all work performed using maintenance management software. - Support machine setups and changeovers as needed. - Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP"s).
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment. - High school diploma or GED required; formal technical training preferred. - Excellent mechanical aptitude. Must pass in-house mechanical aptitude test(s). - Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
Knowledge in: - Electrical up to 480 Volt VAC. - Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC troubleshooting and repair. - Lock out-tag out safety procedures. - Operation of mills, lathes and general machine shop equipment. - Mig and Tig welding. - Plumbing and refrigeration. - Thorough understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
