Summary:
As a team member, the Maintenance Mechanic maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs high-volume food manufacturing equipment. They prioritize personnel and food safety at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Respond and react to mechanical issues in the production environment in a timely and efficient manner.
Complete maintenance projects - PM tasks and work orders as assigned.
Use the CMMS (SAP) to complete work orders, write corrective work orders, and check out parts.
Adheres to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards as well as HACCP compliance and other food safety and workplace safety initiatives.
Keep a clean and organized work area
Perform building inspections and routines
Communicate with other team members
Must ensure safe work practices (NFPA 70e, LOTO, etc.)
Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment, and facilities in the building
Perform both corrective and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment.
A good understanding of the mechanical and electrical components in manufacturing equipment,
Sufficient knowledge at reading electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams to aid in troubleshooting.
Experience with drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine shop tools.
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in the facility
Written and oral communication of daily pass-down activities to other technicians and Team Lead
Follows attendance policy. Observes department call-in procedures. Exhibits timely arrival and departure and dependable time habits including meal and other breaks.
Maintains a positive attitude and gets along well with coworkers.
Exhibits teamwork and willingness to help others.

Required Experience and Skills
Minimum 2 years work experience in a maintenance environment or equivalent education.(Food industry is highly preferred).
Must have strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Must have a basic understanding of AC/DC motors, motor control circuits, and photoeyes / sensors, etc.
Knowledge of conveyance a strong plus.
Must be computer literate.
Familiarity with CMMS work order systems
Food manufacturing background a plus with an understanding of FDA requirements
Must have good attention to detail. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
Should be able to understand blueprints and drawings
Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
Must be able to work at heights from ladders or scissor lifts
