Northern Light Mercy Hospital Department: Facilities Management Position is located: Mercy Fore River Work Type: Full Time Hours Per Week: 40.00 Work Schedule: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM Salary Range : $20.55 - $28.81 Exempt: No Summary: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Mechanic and/or Supervisor Building Operations, the Maintenance Mechanic Trainee is responsible for learning and understanding the safe operation of high-pressure boilers in conjunction with preparing for State of Maine high- pressure boiler license under a licensed operator. Trainee will also be responsible for related physical plant equipment along with several life support systems. The incumbent assists with maintenance work requests repairs throughout the facility and preventative maintenance equipment throughout the facility. The maintenance mechanic trainee will also assist the other trades on a daily basis or during major projects. The incumbent performs minor, non-licensed installations, maintenance and repairs in the hospital and operates the hospital courier vehicle. This position is subject to call back to provide assistance in emergency situations. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Mercy proprietary information, and must handle and protect the information in accordance with hospital and system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of the Hospital.
