Description

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Department: Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Spectrum Management, LLC has been serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for over 25 years and provides a comprehensive array of services that include construction management, facilities operations & maintenance, and real estate development services.

Spectrum Management is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic to preserve operation, function and condition of commercial building machinery and mechanical equipment at one of our secure, high-profile Washington, D.C. sites.

The ideal candidate will have considerable experience with commercial building operations and maintenance facilities and be able to ensure all equipment is safe and well-functioning. Our goal is to ensure our client’s accommodation is problem-free, reliable and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Required Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm
  • Assists in installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial building systems, including water heaters, pumps, generators, compressors, steam/water/gas lines, VAV boxes, heat pumps, and garage ventilation systems.
  • Performs general maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing and electrical repairs, appliance and fixture repair, and removal/replacement of defective components.
  • Diagnoses mechanical and system issues by observing equipment in operation, listening for irregularities, and using precision testing and measuring instruments.
  • Conducts routine facility and equipment inspections, responds promptly and professionally to service calls, and ensures reliable operation of building systems.
  • Provides courteous, high-quality service to occupants, submits requests for supplies and materials, and performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 3+ years of commercial facility operations and maintenance experience
  • 3+ years of experience of operating, maintaining, or repairing commercial building/facility electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilation, and air condition (HVAC), or plumbing systems or equivalent education.
  • Previous experience with identifying or troubleshooting system problems and reading plans or blueprints
  • Experience operating CMMS/BAS
  • CFC Certification required.
  • OSHA 10 Required

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to prioritize work requests and orders according to departmental needs
  • Ability to assess immediate customer needs and ensure customer’s receipt of prompt and efficient services.
  • Ability to exercise appropriate judgment in answering questions and releasing information; analyze and project consequences of decisions and/or recommendations
  • Basic computer skills to input, retrieve, view and print information from facilities management and maintenance tracking systems
  • Ability to work overtime and weekend hours as needed with short notice.
