Maintenance Technician
Location: Defiance, OH
Pay: $28 - $31/hr
Schedule: Full-Time 2nd Shift (3:00pm – 11:00pm)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment and production systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and plant equipment.
  • Repair pumps, gearboxes, valves, pneumatic systems, steam systems, and vacuum pumps.
  • Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including 24V–480V circuits.
  • Maintain packaging, conveying, boiler, air compressor, water, and processing systems.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Perform equipment calibrations and assist with plant projects and new installations.
  • Repair forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Weld stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety and GMP guidelines.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with pumps, valves, motors, conveyors, compressors, boilers, and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Welding experience with stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to pass a maintenance assessment.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to machinery, noise, varying temperatures, and industrial equipment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and reaching throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • May be required to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors for electrical and maintenance tasks.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe shoes, respirators, and other safety gear as needed.
  • Must be comfortable working around moving equipment, steam, water systems, and production processes while following all safety and GMP guidelines.
