Richelieu Foods, Inc. is a leading national private label and contract packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza. We have two manufacturing facilities located in IL and WI. We provide products to many national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, club and mass stores, as well as industrial accounts including other food manufacturers.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Planner oversees the development, planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance work to maximize efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. The Maintenance Planner will act as a liaison between the Production and Maintenance departments and will develop strategic plans to ensure that Maintenance targets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drives a safety culture that prioritizes safe work practices and procedures, ensures all activities align with regulatory requirements that may apply, e.g., OSHA, EPA, USDA, state and local building and fire code regulations.
  • Plans all maintenance work with special attention to regulatory requirements that may apply, e.g. OSHA rules, USDA requirements, state and local environmental regulations.
  • Ensures all safety requirements are clearly defined in all maintenance planning.
  • Develops and maintains planned and predictive maintenance procedures and routes as required.
  • Ensures in advance, by running reports and inventory tracking, the availability of all materials and tools necessary to complete planned tasks.
  • Ensures all work orders are in the proper status by identified timeframes to complete work consistent with priority status.
  • Trains Maintenance personnel in proper maintenance reporting procedures for out-of-specification findings, and in the use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software as a maintenance management tool.
  • Reviews completed work orders for completeness and accuracy and updates machinery history data in the CMMS tool. Analyzes historical data to take action to mitigate re-occurring issues.
  • Follows the work order process to ensure parts are checked out from the storeroom properly and consistently, in compliance with SOP's.
  • Generate reports to keep the Maintenance Team informed of work progress and future work schedules.
  • Drives and improves the workflow of work orders within the CMMS tool. Analyze and track data to look for Continuous Improvement and cost saving opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years of experience in day-to-day preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner or similar role in a technical field.
  • Detailed understanding of maintenance operations and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Maintenance experience in the Food Industry.
  • Two-year degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial trades, or Computer Systems.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and a CMMS tool.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & handle multiple tasks.

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial trucks. The employee is frequently exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Requires 100% onsite attendance to perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Maintenance Team - 10-hour shifts Monday - Friday with occasional weekend shifts.

Pay and Benefits:

The following information is provided in accordance with applicable state and local laws. Compensation is based on experience, geographic locations, and other legally permitted factors. The expected compensation range for this role is $75,000 and $90,000. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus.
