Summary:
Origin Mining Company operates the Mineral Park copper-molybdenum mine in Arizona and is focused on responsible, sustainable resource development. We aim to lead the U.S. copper industry through strong safety practices, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence. Our team is committed to doing things the right way—acting with integrity, supporting our communities, and creating long-term value. With a hands-on, technically driven approach, we are advancing both leach and concentrator operations to produce high-quality copper and molybdenum products.
Position Overview:
Plan, coordinate, and direct site maintenance activities to ensure mobile and fixed plant equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Work closely with third-party contractors across downstream operations and act as the main contact for contract labour, including equipment overhauls. Maximize equipment availability through effective preventive maintenance programs and maintain adequate warehouse stock of parts and materials. Support investigations into equipment failures, recommend corrective actions, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations, procedures, and policies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan maintenance activities 1–4 weeks ahead, including extended shutdowns
  • Schedule corrective backlog work and preventive maintenance while minimizing production impact
  • Define job scope, including tasks, resources (labor, parts, tools), timelines, and costs
  • Assign timing (“when”) and personnel (“who”) for upcoming work
  • Ensure work can be completed safely with available resources and equipment readiness
  • Develop and manage maintenance plans and equipment data in SAP (task lists, BOMs, measuring points)
  • Optimize use of labor, contractors, and materials
  • Maintain and improve job plans, equipment hierarchy, and master data in SAP
  • Manage materials and procurement (quotes, requisitions, POs, delivery tracking)
  • Oversee backlog by planning, executing, and closing work orders
  • Update failure codes and support root cause analysis
Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience with maintenance planning, including fixed and mobile equipment
  • Proficiency in CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Pronto, Maximo) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance, repair, and predictive maintenance practices
  • Familiarity with purchasing procedures and policies
  • Understanding of MSHA, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Skills in project management and Root Cause Failure Analysis
  • Strong deductive reasoning abilities
  • Background in mechanical planning within an industrial environment (heavy mechanical, some electrical experience)
Physical Demands:
To be eligible for this position, an individual must possess the following requirements to perform the essential job functions:
  • Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking on uneven surfaces, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather.
  • Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information.
  • Able to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds periodically.
