The Technical Objects Coordinator is responsible for assuring CMMS & asset data is accurate and up to date (e.g. CMMS Asset Structure, Spare Parts/BOMs, Equipment Drawings & P&IDs) providing reliable information for planning, scheduling and execution. This role ensures that all maintenance activities have the data, materials and technical information available to ensure maintenance activities are thoroughly planned, scoped, and prepared before work begins. The Technical Objects Coordinator enables the maintenance team to perform work safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This position is a key driver of proactive planning, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement in plant reliability. This position may also backfill and support maintenance planning and preventative maintenance development.

Critical Success Criteria:

  • CMMS Excellence: CMMS data is accurate and up-to-date (e.g. CMMS Asset Structure, Spare Parts BOMs, Equipment Drawings & P&IDs), providing reliable information for planning, scheduling and execution.
  • In the Field Verification: Validation of equipment in the plant to assure technical object and BOM accuracy
  • Ownership of "What and How": All maintenance jobs are fully scoped with clear work instructions, required parts, tools, and safety requirements identified.
  • Safety Integration: All job plans include necessary permits (e.g., hot work, confined space) and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Workflow Readiness: Planned work packages minimize delays and maximize wrench time.
  • Continuous Improvement: Preventive and predictive maintenance programs are regularly reviewed and optimized.
  • Reliability Impact: Maintenance plans contribute to measurable improvements in equipment uptime and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

CMMS & Data Integrity:

o Own the accuracy of the BOM for each existing asset within the CMMS

o Field walks

o Maintain and update CMMS with accurate asset hierarchy, parts lists, job plans and work order details.

Resource Preparation:

o Organize and maintain spare parts lists, manuals, and technical drawings.

o Ensure all materials and resources are available before work begins.

Job Planning:

o Develop detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, corrective, and routine Department "Down Day" maintenance.

o Define scope of work, required labor, tools, parts, and safety requirements for each job.

o Create clear, step-by-step work instructions to ensure safe and efficient execution.

o Manage backlog of work orders and prioritize based on equipment criticality, risk, and stakeholder involvement.

Safety & Compliance:

o Identify and document all safety requirements for each job, including hot work permits, confined space entry, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE needs.

o Ensure work orders clearly indicate if equipment must be shut down and communicate this to the Scheduler for coordination with Operations.

Collaboration & Coordination:

o Work closely with Maintenance Supervisors and Scheduler to plan labor and communicate routine Department "Down Day" maintenance scope.

o Provide detailed job plans to technicians and supervisors for execution.

Continuous Improvement:

o Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and improve reliability.

o Drive enhancements in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

o Build out standard Job Plans for re-occurring maintenance activities

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience:

o Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills:

o Proficiency with CMMS (MainSaver/Ultimo/Maximo preferred) and planning tools.

o Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of maintenance concepts.

o Ability to read and interpret and redline technical drawings and blueprints & P&IDS.

Core Competencies:

o Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

o Ability to develop detailed work instructions and resource plans.

o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

o Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments.

Safety Knowledge:

o Familiarity with OSHA standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and permit requirements (hot work, confined space).

Additional Requirements:

o Approximately 60% of the individual's time should be spent in the plant, and 40% office time.

o Ability to work in a hot production area while wearing protective clothing, including a full-mask respirator (with or without reasonable accommodation).

o Aptitude to read, write, and understand technical instructions and drawings.

Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience

Industrial plant environment experience required

Familiarity with pumps, motors, instrumentation, and mechanical equipment

Experience with CMMS systems (MainSaver experience is a plus)

Ability to create and maintain BOMs

Ability to read and redline P&IDs and technical drawings

Strong computer and data management skills

Must be able to work in an operating industrial plant

Ability to climb ladders

Ability to wear a respirator

Must be clean-shaven for respirator fit testing

Blood lead testing required and managed by the client

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Tampa, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
