Maintenance Planner

Maintenance Planner | Food Manufacturing

We are hiring a Maintenance Planner for a food and beverage manufacturing facility in Rockford, IL. This is a critical coordination role responsible for planning, scheduling, and optimizing all maintenance activity across the facility – from work order management to parts procurement to PM program ownership.

What You’ll Do:

• Own the maintenance work order backlog and develop weekly and daily execution schedules
• Lead maintenance planning and scheduling meetings
• Build and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs
• Manage the parts room including inventory control, spare parts identification, and purchasing approvals
• Generate and manage purchase orders for parts and supplies including vendor negotiation
• Maintain equipment manuals, prints, schematics, and machine history in the CMMS
• Serve as the SME for the maintenance management system
• Collaborate with maintenance leadership on financial, statistical, and technical reporting
• Coordinate with contractors on critical job steps and expectations
• Support continuous improvement initiatives tied to proactive maintenance



What We’re Looking For:

• 7+ years of experience in maintenance planning or maintenance supervision
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• CMMS proficiency required – must be comfortable owning the system
• Experience managing parts rooms, inventory, and purchasing
• Ability to develop and present clear maintenance reports
• Strong communicator across shop floor, vendors, and management
• Two-year technical degree or higher preferred
• Food or beverage manufacturing background a plus
