The Planner/Scheduler manages the planning and scheduling process to ensure maintenance work is executed efficiently. This role analyzes work orders, defines job scopes, identifies needed resources, and prepares all materials before work is scheduled.

Key Responsibilities

Review, prioritize, and plan all approved work orders with clear scopes, labor needs, safety steps, tools, materials, permits, and duration.

Create job plans and standards using experience, CMMS history, and SME input to ensure safe, efficient work.

Maintain equipment files, BOMs, and standard job packages to improve future planning.

Lead routine planning meetings, manage CMMS backlog review, and align maintenance schedules with production needs.

Develop and report KPIs such as schedule compliance, planning accuracy, and backlog aging.

Optimize PM tasks, part requirements, and frequencies.

Coordinate outsourced repairs, component refurbishments, and storeroom stock levels.

Build detailed daily, weekly, and multi-week maintenance schedules.

Track progress of maintenance and fabrication work.

Support Total Process Reliability (TPR) initiatives and act as backup CMMS administrator (E360).

Decision-Making Authority

Makes independent decisions to improve maintenance efficiency, reliability, and cost control.

Determines when RCFA or other reliability reviews are needed.

Adjusts plans to correct off-target KPIs and manages contractor/overtime resources for backlog control.

Minimum Requirements

2 4 years of maintenance planning experience.

Strong influencing and communication skills.

Technical knowledge of equipment and maintenance crafts.

Ability to visualize jobs, determine resource needs, and interpret drawings/schematics.

Proficient with CMMS and MS Office.

Ability to work effectively with operators, technicians, vendors, and contractors, including indirect supervision.
