Job Highlights
The Maintenance Scheduler/Planner coordinates and optimizes planned maintenance activities within a process manufacturing environment. This role serves as the central link between Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is executed efficiently while minimizing impact to production. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically knowledgeable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial setting. Key responsibilities include
Develop and maintain the master maintenance schedule, including preventive, corrective, and inspection work.
Lead weekly scheduling meetings and publish a rolling two-week look-ahead plan.
Manage the maintenance backlog to ensure timely execution and minimize overdue work.
Ensure preventive maintenance activities are scheduled and completed in alignment with reliability goals.
Coordinate inspections and outage schedules to support compliance and equipment reliability.
Maintain accurate work order data within the CMMS throughout the full lifecycle.
Track and report key performance metrics such as PM compliance, backlog status, schedule adherence, and break-in work.
Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to align priorities and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Experience / Skills
HS Diploma or GED equivalent required. Technical degree preferred.
5-10 years of industrial or process manufacturing maintenance experience.
Direct experience in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment.
Experience working in a unionized facility preferred.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and safety procedures (OSHA).
Experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) environments preferred.
Proficiency with CMMS systems (SAP strongly preferred).
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
