SUMMARYThe Planner role develops planned packages for maintenance work based on priorities set by the Operations Maintenance Coordinator. The Planner jointly manages the operations maintenance controllable budget with the Operations Maintenance Coordinator. Planner also serves as the SME for Maintenance Work Orders, PM Master Data and Unit Budget. This position is also responsible for identifying short and long term resource needs and implementing contracting strategies to manage backlog. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMay include, but are not limited to, the following:Support and drive accident prevention and environmental excellence.Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner while adhering to all company policies and procedures.Review new Notifications daily and create planned Work Orders.Acquire a clear understanding of work scope through Notification text, walk through, & communication with operations.Enter any planning hold point information in Stat using so everyone can truly understand the state of work order.Review backlog of new Work Orders with OMC weekly to confirm priorities for planning.Create or update task list where they do not exist with all necessary elements of labor, tools and materials.Build Field Work package with all necessary information.Develop simple work scope documents for jobs determined to be contracted and assist with work coordination and scheduling with contractor.Maintain Bill of MaterialsAttend and actively participate in weekly planning meeting by providing input and feedback.Schedule to 100% of resource capacity.Finalize schedule for next week distribute weekly schedule by Noon Thursday to Operations and Maintenance personnel for posting in Control Rooms and Maintenance Shops.Utilize feedback to improve Task List, Bill of Materials, and Equipment Technical data for continuous improvement of job planning.Compare Plan to Actual results to make improvements in job planningFollow and support Work Management ProcessRequest updates of master records as needed, FLOC, Equipment, BOM, Maintenance Plan, Task ListsScope development and requisitioning of Contractors executing routine Maintenance overload and/or supplemental workBackup for other area plannersSupport Turnaround Work Process Planning and ExecutionEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of 5 years of Operational and/or Maintenance experience or engineering qualification Diploma/Degree in the appropriate discipline desirablePrevious experience in industrial plant operations with knowledge of maintenance, planning and scheduling requirementsExperience with MS Office and experience with SAP preferred or similar programAbility to communicate effectively with Production, Maintenance/Scheduling and Engineering department, managers, supervisors and crafts personsSuccessful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENTThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
