GFTX Powertrain is seeking a highly motivated individual to train in the Maintenance planner role in preparation for new lines and expansions. This role will be tasked with expediting the execution of work orders through improving technician effectiveness and efficiency through proper planning and scheduling. This position will be responsible for planning and scheduling daily maintenance and projects in various stages, as well as tracking and reporting progress during execution. The Maintenance Planner determines the proper scope of a job to solve the problem s root cause and how to complete the job. Job scope will include identifying the labor requirements, materials, special tools, equipment, and sequence of job steps required to safely, efficiently, and effectively accomplish a given task. The Planner also supports the administrative needs of the department such as managing vending or consumables, logistics for critical items, and maintaining other team critical systems.
Evaluation of work orders for planning of work instructions, spares, tools and time required for execution (Flux)
Main owner of CMMS edits and modifications to PM schedules, procedures, and statuses
Coordinate with maintenance staff and external vendor on maintenance activities
Develop and monitor schedules according to requirements and plans
Collaborate with maintenance and production team to plan activities for scheduled shutdowns
Manage Work Order backlogs, track work order aging, and communicate planned and ready backlogs to Supervisors and Techs
Coordinate and drive preventative maintenance planning systems, prioritization, and workload evaluation. Including creating critical job standards, specifications and goals
Build reports and data to visualize and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and present or report this information to cross functional teams
Lead the job or work planning process (e.g. monthly, quarterly, annually, weekly). Identify labor, materials, tools and safety requirements for maintenance work orders
Create job plan packages that include written and other info providing guidelines for completing the job safely, efficiently and with high quality
Provide a full day of scheduled work for each technician and thus increase productivity through the elimination of delays
Provide factual data required for evaluation of performance and corrective action as needed
Permit more accurate collection and analysis of cost and assure an economic level of maintenance with less interruption of production
Essential Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
