Overview:
We are seeking a Maintenance Planner / Scheduler to support maintenance operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinating work orders, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and overseeing the parts inventory process. The ideal candidate will work closely with maintenance, production, and purchasing teams to maximize equipment uptime, improve workflow efficiency, and ensure technicians have the resources needed to complete maintenance activities successfully. 

Job Duties: 

  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule preventive maintenance, planned repairs, and reactive maintenance activities to support production goals.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly maintenance work orders, ensuring technicians are assigned based on skill set and workload.
  • Manage the maintenance storeroom and parts inventory, maintaining accurate stock levels and inventory records.
  • Ensure maintenance jobs are properly planned, including parts availability, documentation, and job kitting before work begins.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, equipment records, and work order history within the company's maintenance management system (CMMS/EAM).
  • Partner with purchasing to ensure critical spare parts and maintenance materials are available while optimizing inventory levels.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and support continuous improvement of inventory accuracy and material tracking.
  • Review completed work orders for accuracy and completeness, updating maintenance records as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the maintenance department, including scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
  • Train and support maintenance storeroom personnel to ensure consistent processes and adequate coverage.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance, operations, and leadership to coordinate maintenance priorities and minimize downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or mechanical coursework preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment; food manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities using a CMMS or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance parts, equipment, tools, and inventory management practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP, CMMS, or other maintenance management systems.
  • Previous experience leading or coordinating employees is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when business needs require.
