Overview:The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and tracking maintenance activities that support safe, reliable, and efficient mill operations. This role compiles and maintains current and historical equipment data, including downtime, parts usage, work order history, and machine center performance information. The Maintenance Planner serves as a key link between Maintenance and Operations by supporting preventive maintenance, managing CMMS data, maintaining equipment history, and helping prioritize work that improves uptime and reliability.

Coordinate maintenance activities to support operational needs while maximizing equipment uptime.

Create, prioritize, and track work orders within the CMMS.
Coordinate parts requisitions for planned work orders and support inventory tracking as needed.
Develop preventive maintenance tasks and schedules for new equipment prior to installation.
Manage data collection and input into the CMMS, ensuring work order information is accurate and complete.
Monitor work order backlog and maintain proper prioritization based on operational needs and maintenance risk.
Develop initial machine operator training for critical machine centers to support preventive maintenance development.
Maintain emergency repair records and ensure repair activity is documented for follow-up and trend analysis.
Attend mill team meetings as needed to communicate project status, maintenance priorities, and equipment reliability updates.
Monitor preventive maintenance compliance and completion rates.
Develop and maintain statistical information for machine centers, including uptime, downtime, maintenance costs, and related reliability metrics.
Manage maintenance history for each machine center to support troubleshooting, planning, and long-term reliability improvement.
Identify critical spare parts deficiencies and coordinate proper readiness for key equipment.
Assist with cost estimates for major equipment repairs, rebuilds, and modifications.
Schedule contracted predictive maintenance surveys and ensure results are documented and followed up on.
Maintain an organized and current library of equipment manuals, documentation, and related technical resources.
Qualifications:
Can demonstrate efficiency in Microsoft Office systems: Word & ExcelDemonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office systems, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Microsoft Copilot.
Experience with data collection software programs preferred.
CMMS experience preferred.
Prior planning and scheduling experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics preferred.
Machinery experience and mechanical aptitude required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
