Mechanical Planner
Sabine Pass, TX | Onsite | 12+ Month Contract
iSphere is looking for a Mechanical Planner who understands that a good maintenance plan has to work in the field, not just look good in SAP.
This role supports maintenance and reliability planning for packaged equipment and rotating machinery, including steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, generators, motors, and the auxiliary systems that keep all of it running. You will build and maintain work plans, outage plans, schedules, job packs, material requirements, and CMMS documentation while working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, technicians, vendors, and Supply Chain.
SAP S/4HANA experience is a must. You will use it heavily to plan, prioritize, schedule, document, and track maintenance work while helping manage backlog, cost, compliance, and execution.
You will develop weekly, monthly, quarterly, and look-ahead schedules for routine maintenance, outage work, and upgrades. You will also create job packs, coordinate work orders, identify required materials and services, support dispatching, and make sure the right documentation is in place before work gets released.
What we need:
5+ years of maintenance planning experience using SAP in Oil & Gas, LNG, petrochemical, or similar industrial facilities
Heavy working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA
Strong experience planning maintenance for packaged equipment and rotating machinery
Solid understanding of steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, generators, motors, and associated auxiliary systems
Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, execution, and backlog management
Experience developing job packs, estimating work, identifying materials, and coordinating resources
Experience planning work involving scaffolding, insulation, painting, rigging, lifting, welding, fabrication, machining, or related crafts
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Ability to maintain a valid TWIC card
Current valid driver’s license
Prometheus experience is preferred. MS Project, Primavera P6, scheduling software build experience, PHMSA-regulated pipeline experience, and experience with gas compression or metering equipment will also get our attention.
You will also help develop maintenance KPIs, report on schedule and regulatory compliance, analyze trends and deviations, support procedure updates, assist with training, and provide input into maintenance budgets.
This is a good fit for someone who knows rotating equipment well enough to build a realistic plan around it. You should be able to look at the work, understand the sequence, know what parts and crafts are needed, and spot the missing piece before the job gets delayed in the field.
If SAP S/4HANA, mechanical maintenance planning, and rotating equipment have been a major part of your background, this one should be worth a conversation.
