Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste.

The Maintenance Program Manager provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the Maintenance, Property Management, Integration & Overtime Management, and Process Improvement & Special Projects program areas. This position is critical to ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) requirements and H2C maintenance policies and procedures, and supports safe, effective, and efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Program Management: Administers and oversees a comprehensive maintenance program—including but not limited to preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance—ensuring all activities are executed efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with DOE Orders, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
* Property and Asset Management: Directs, plans, and coordinates activities related to government property, real property, and asset management at the site. Ensures records are maintained and assets are tracked, safeguarded, and reported in accordance with applicable DOE requirements and company procedures.
* Supervision and Leadership: Manages a diverse team of program support staff and administrative personnel, providing clear direction, setting priorities, and fostering a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
* Schedule and Budget Oversight: Leads the planning and execution of maintenance programs to meet scheduled commitments, optimize resource allocation, and support annual and long-range work planning. Monitors progress and adjusts priorities to address changing site and mission needs.
* DOE and Tank Farms Expertise: Applies a strong working knowledge of DOE Orders, Hanford site work practices, and Tank Farms processes and procedures. Ensures program compliance and best practices are incorporated into daily operations.
* Continuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities to increase reliability, reduce lifecycle costs, and improve program performance through use of industry best practices, innovative approaches, and lessons learned.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Serves as a primary interface with DOE, H2C management, project managers, and other site organizations regarding all matters related to maintenance and asset management programs. Communicates program objectives, performance, and challenges effectively to all levels of the organization.
* Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identifies risks, develops mitigation strategies, and resolves issues that could impact schedule, cost, or mission execution. Ensures that significant risks and issues are elevated and communicated appropriately.
* Documentation and Reporting: Ensures all required documentation, records, and reports associated with maintenance and property management are accurate, timely, and compliant with DOE and H2C requirements.

The decisions and actions taken by the Maintenance Program Manager have high visibility and significant impact on the success of company goals—including safe and compliant facility operation, regulatory performance, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong judgment, leadership, and initiative to drive results and resolve complex program challenges.
Required Qualifications
Grade 21: Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 10 years' directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Grade 22: Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 12 years' directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
*Experience with Maintenance programs, Work Control, and Hazard Analysis work processes of nuclear facility systems, including work package development and planning.
Desired Qualifications
* Excellent interpersonal skills and communication needed to facilitate project milestones.
* Experience working with operations and bargaining unit personnel is desirable.
* Experience with nuclear facilities (commercial or DOE) is desired.
* Demonstrated experience managing maintenance programs and staff in a DOE environment or similar highly regulated setting.
* In-depth knowledge of DOE Orders, maintenance program requirements, and Hanford/Tank Farms work practices.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building effective teams and driving program excellence.
* Experience with real property and asset management programs preferred.
* Ability to interface professionally with all levels of management, staff, and regulatory/customer representatives.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $145,150
Hiring Range Maximum: $214,288
